Celebrating 150 Years of Foundry History in Mankato
On August 18, MPS Mankato proudly celebrated 150 years of foundry history with a special alumni event attended by former employees, including Denny Dotson and Jean Bye, along with approximately 20 other alumni.
A highlight of the event was the unveiling of our new commemorative park, which honors the rich industrial legacy of Mankato. Denny Dotson spoke about the importance of preserving this history for future generations. The park features historical equipment, including a punch press and Little Giant hammer, as well as castings and display panels that trace our journey from Laurentius Mayer’s blacksmith shop in 1876 to the innovative manufacturing operations we operate today.
As we continue celebrating this milestone with employees, suppliers, customers, and community members, we are reminded that our success has always been built by dedicated, skilled workers. Manufacturing remains a cornerstone of the local economy, and we are proud to honor the people who have shaped our legacy over the past 150 years.
Here’s to the next chapter of innovation, craftsmanship, and community.
