Employment Overview

Employment at Dotson Iron CastingsA father and his three sons started The Dotson Company as a blacksmith shop in 1876. Since that time there have been thousands of individuals who have contributed to our success. The single, most important reason for the century-plus operation of this company is the value contributed by the many employees. Through the years, we have developed a set of core values and an employee value proposition that drive the interactions and decisions that are made within our company.

Core Values

  1. Integrity, openness, honesty
  2. Respect and serve others
  3. Excellent execution
  4. Hold self accountable
  5. Employee engagement
  6. Celebrate successes

Employee Value Proposition

Dotson's employees are engaged, innovative, successful and community minded working in an environment where they feel valued, respected, secure, safe and rewarded; their leaders inspire, build trust and empower the organization.

Currently, The Dotson Company employs around 130 people. About 90 of those are in production positions. The Casting department includes the process of core making and green sand molding along with our furnace melting and pouring operations. Our Finishing department is where the castings are cleaned, inspected and finish ground. The Maintenance department employs industrial technicians who provide TPM throughout our plant. Our customer's tooling is maintained by our Pattern Shop. In the summer of 2010 we will be starting up a Machining department to bring in some machining processes that are currently subcontracted.

We continually accept and review applications. Specific job openings are also posted on this site.
